Inuvik is one of many communities hit by a blizzard today.
Winds were gusting to more than 90 kilometres an hour. Many people who tried to drive were getting stuck on the roads, and both the schools and government offices shut down.

well we sure could use some of that down this a way. were in a total DROUGHT in califiornia ….. But these pics are not nearly impressive as that shot you took last year.. the one with the few people in it off in the distance looking like gnats in a sea of white. remember that one???? it was one of your BEST photos EVER!!!!!!!!!
i like the third one down; seeing the individual flakes coming at the lens makes me feel like i’m in it. (we had our heaviest snow of the season on the same day–a whopping three inches which disappeared four days later in 47F and rain.)
